Station 3 Group Photo.jpg

Hello Friends and Neighbors -

I am happy to announce that the new station on Cape Rosier will be operational beginning the second week of December 2025.  We reached our fundraising goal and the building and all internal systems are installed and operational.  Brooksville Truck 3, a Class A pumper/tanker will be moved to the Cape permanently.   Additional work on the station will include completing interior partitions, the septic system, installation of an emergency generator, antenna tower, and groundwork outside the station.  We have the funds to complete these additional projects thanks to all our donors over the last year.  The Department would like to extend its gratitude to all who made this possible through their donations and other support.

Looking forward to 2026, The BVFD Association is happy to announce the addition of new members who bring valuable skills to our group.  Our operational funding needs as we enter budget season include equipment and turnout gear purchases and increased administrative costs.  We would appreciate your support.  Items we are looking at include:

  1.  Device for disabling hybrid/electric vehicles at accident scenes to protect occupants and responders.

  2. Device for detecting dangerous voltages that might be present at hybrid/EV accidents.

  3. Device for detecting dangerous voltages at incidents involving power lines.

  4. An additional thermal imaging camera for heat/fire detection.  This camera would reside on Truck 3.

Our longer-term goals include replacing the fire station in North Brooksville with a building very much like the new Cape Rosier station.  This will be a major capital fund raising effort and will likely take 3-4 years.  Donations can be earmarked for any of the above – please contact the department via email if you would like more information.

We plan to have a grand opening celebration for the Cape Rosier station when summer 2026 arrives.   Watch our website and your email for scheduling information.

Once again, thank you to all in the community who supported our efforts and made our campaign a success.

Sincerely,

Matt Dow

Brooksville Fire Chief

We greatly appreciate all charitable gifts and are specifically seeking capital gifts which would allow us to maintain our ambitious plan to have the station in service by the end of 2025.  For more information, please contact us via email or phone.  We can't do it without your support! Check out some pictures of the process on the Cape Rosier Station Photos page.
